100th Container Shipped from NMI Site

Total Groundwater Processed

Through mid-June, 2019, approximately 1.35 million gallons of groundwater have been processed through the Permanent Groundwater Treatment System (Final Treatment System), which has been operational since April 2, 2019.

Previously, approximately 17 million gallons of groundwater were processed through the Temporary Groundwater Treatment System (TGTS) to maintain hydraulic capture of the plume. The TGTS operated from May 23, 2017 until the Final Treatment System was operational.

As of Wednesday, July 10th, 2013, a total of one hundred containers packed with waste for off-site disposal were sent from the NMI site. Waste shipment off site will continue, although shipment off site will pause from mid July to early August while crews stockpile more waste material.
